What was the real name of Abu Jahl?

0
A) Abu Lahab
B) Amr ibn Hisham
C) Khalid ibn Walid
D) None of these

Correct Answer: B) Amr ibn Hisham

• The real birth name of Abu Jahl, one of the fiercest and most cruel opponents of early Islam, was Amr ibn Hisham. • Before his intense hostility towards the Prophet (SAW), he was respectfully known among the Quraish elite as 'Abu l-Hakam' (Father of Wisdom). • Due to his extreme arrogance and blindness towards the divine truth, the early Muslims titled him 'Abu Jahl' (Father of Ignorance). • He was eventually killed during the historic Battle of Badr by two young Muslim brothers, Mu'adh and Mu'awwidh.
